Mission
At the main entrance of Maple Hall students have access to a grand piano, pool table, lounge seating, and the front desk. On the north side of the building residents can find a kitchen with a large seating area including a flatscreen TV, projector, and whiteboards used for meetings, studying, hanging out, and more! A lounge room, and a study room can also be found on Maple’s first floor.

At the lower/basement level residents can find the laundry room, vending machines, and the resident bike and storage locker. Additionally, the lower level offers a quiet room that features comfortable seating and a ping-pong table.

The garden level, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th, floors of Maple are where residents reside. Each floor includes one social lounge with a flatscreen TV and lounge seating. Additionally, a study room with a whiteboard, tables, and seating is located in each wing.

Outside of Maple Hall, the north and south wing horseshoe around the front courtyard. Residents can hammock, play outdoor games, and study outside on a warm Colorado day. Located out of the lower level towards the back of Maple is a smaller courtyard with bench seating.

Maple hall includes the Engineering Grand Challenges SLC and the sophomore Environmental Justice SLC.

Mission
Opened in the Fall of 2020, Spruce Hall is Colorado School of Mines’ newest residence hall for first-year students! The community offers single, double, and triple occupancy rooms in a traditional-style (i.e. shared, communal restrooms) setting. Spruce is also home to our first-year Honors Explore Signature Learning Community and our Gender Inclusive Housing Affinity Community!

The lower level/basement of Spruce Hall offers a ping pong table, foosball, vending and ice machines, lounge seating, a fireplace, flat screen TVs, a print station, and a large laundry room. Just up the stairs on the lobby level, students have access to more lounge seating, 2 study/conference rooms, a community kitchen, a TV, and the Spruce Hall Front Desk where students can check out board games, kitchen supplies, recreational equipment, and more.

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th residential floors provide 2 study rooms, 2 small active lounges, and 1 larger active lounge. Students can also find respite seating areas at the ends of the hallways for solo study areas. All study rooms are equipped with televisions and whiteboards. The small active lounges feature lounge seating, televisions, microwaves, and sinks; while the larger active lounges offer full kitchens, whiteboards, televisions, and lounge seating. The 5th floor (smaller than those below it) has 1 study room, 1 large active lounge, and 1 small active lounge.

Student rooms feature color-changing and dimming lights that students may control. Rooms are accessed via keyless entry with the use of Blastercards, and magnetic door holders allow students to easily prop their doors open to the rest of their floor community.

Outside of Spruce Hall, students can enjoy courtyard green space, an outdoor fireplace, and grill. Partnering with the Student Recreation Center and Sodexo Dining, Spruce Hall is also home to the Motion Lab Fitness Center and Zime café.

The Village at Mines Park is an apartment complex that provides convenient, affordable housing for the growing Mines community. The complex has apartments for single upper-class (second-year and above) undergraduate students, graduate students, and families. There are one-, two-, and three-bedroom units for single students (individual bedrooms) and one and two-bedroom units for families. The Village at Mines Park are located at the southwest corner of 6th Avenue and 19th Street at the base of Mt. Zion.

Welcome to the Trads! The Trads or Traditional Halls is a first year community made up of 4 buildings, Morgan, Thomas, Bradford, and Randall. These 4 halls house roughly 100 residents each. Each building has laundry and a kitchen in the basement along with some unique features.
The Trads is home to the Visual Performing Arts (VPA) SLC and the Athleticism and Wellness (A&W) SLC.

WEAVER TOWERS:

Weaver Towers was the second residential community to join the Mines campus. Weaver is a 4-story building with east and west towers offering suite units. The building is located on the northeast corner of 19th Street and Elm Street, adjacent to Elm Hall and Mines Market dining hall. Weaver Towers is a suite-style community where each suite accommodates seven to eight students in both single and double rooms. Each suite includes a fully furnished common area, two bathrooms, and a large living room window looking out onto the community.

ELM HALL:
Opened in 2014, Elm Hall was the fourth residence community to join the Mines campus. Elm hall is a 4-story building composed of two wings: a west wing above Mines Market and an east wing above the Residence Life Department. Elm offers single, double, and triple occupancy rooms with a neighborhood typology design including male, female, and gender-neutral restrooms on every floor.
